The next installment in the Final Fantasy XIII series, as yet unnamed, will be officially announced by Square-Enix next month. Dubbed the
“Final Fantasy XIII Lightning Saga”.
New Developments Presentation, the announcement will include a title for the game at the very least and is set to be held on September 1.
What isn’t known is whether this will be a physical media release or a DLC add-on for
Final Fantasy XIII-2
but presumably the new game will pick up where that title left off.

Hopefully this installment has a better ending than the last one.
Although dragging the story out across three games is a bit much.
